Flights and Cruises

If your holiday involves any travel by air/cruising your contract will be with the ATOL/ABTA holder named on the individual itinerary. These contract terms and financial guarantees will not apply to any holiday involving any type of flight/cruise. Instead, you will be supplied with the full booking conditions of the ATOL/ABTA holder arranging your holiday. Your booking agent will have a copy or alternatively you can request one prior to booking your holiday from the ATOL/ABTA holder named on the individual itinerary. The transfer to port or airport will usually be by a Woods Coach.

Our highly skilled coach drivers are renowned for their care, helpfulness and convivial manner which enable passengers to enjoy their holiday to the full. On most continental trips your coach will have two drivers

Safety and security

On holidays the coach will be an Irizar with double glazed windows, reclining seats, air conditioning, DVD, radio/PA, tea/coffee making facilities and toilet. Our coaches are fitted with seat belts for your personal safety. You travel on condition that they will be worn at all times whilst the vehicle is moving. Failure to wear seat belts will compromise any possible claim for personal injury.

Whilst we take all reasonable care with passenger’s luggage and other items that they may bring on to our coaches, we do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage caused to these items whilst on the vehicle. Under no circumstances should any valuables be left on a coach, even if it is locked. Personal belongings are not insured against theft on any of our coaches. Please note: we make a charge of £2.00 (which is donated to charity) to hold and administer lost property

Special Requirements & Special Requests

If you have any special requirements (e.g. dietary or facilities required for medical reasons) without which you would not go away, you must notify us of these when making a reservation. If we are able to confirm that these requirements will be complied with, the details will be written on the booking confirmation. Whilst we will note any special requests (e.g. a sea view room) and will pass them on to the hotels concerned, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that these will be complied with in all cases

Meals

Included meals are as stated in the itinerary. Guests with special dietary requirements must advise our sales staff at the time of booking. When information is provided, every effort will be made to accommodate these requests.

Disabled Passengers

Please advise our sales staff if you or any member of your group has a disability. Although we will do our best to accommodate you, there are certain holidays that involve some walking or the use of hotels with steps and therefore these may not be suitable for all of our clients

Baggage Allowance

You may take one medium sized suitcase/rucksack onto a coach (weighing no more than 20kg), and one small piece of soft hand luggage. Hand luggage means something that can be stored in the overhead rack or beneath your seat. We have no obligation to carry luggage in excess of the permitted amount, but additional pieces of hold luggage or ‘outsized’ items will be allowed, subject to space. Height, width or depth of these items must not be bigger than 70cm x 30cm x 45cm and priority will be given to customers travelling with luggage within these limits. We shall have no obligation to carry luggage in excess of the permitted amount, but we will endeavour to do so, where space permits. Collapsible manual wheelchairs and folding pushchairs/buggies can be carried for free in the hold. Special arrangements apply for battery powered wheelchairs/disabled scooters. Customers must travel with their luggage. All non-luggage items will only be carried if boxed or packaged securely and are carried at owner’s risk. Suitable insurance is advised. Fragile items will only be carried if they are securely packaged and of reasonable size e.g. smaller electrical goods. Drivers will load your luggage on and off coaches and may request the customer’s assistance to load items of luggage over 20kg such as wheelchairs and scooters

No Smoking Policy

Smoking is not permitted on any of our coaches. We do make several comfort stops during journeys and therefore hope that this policy will not cause too much inconvenience to any clients wishing to smoke.

Health Formalities

If you have any doubts regarding your health, we advise that you check with your doctor and gain his approval before travelling on a coach tour with us. The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) has replaced the old E111. E111s are no longer valid. The EHIC is normally valid for 3 to 5 years and entitles you to reduced-cost, sometimes free, medical treatment that becomes necessary while you’re in a European Economic Area (EEA) country and Switzerland. The EEA consists of the European Union countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Switzerland applies the EHIC arrangements through an agreement with the EU. The quickest and easiest way to get an EHIC is to apply online or you can telephone 0845 6062030 or obtain a form from the Post Office. The card gives access to state medical treatment only and you’ll be treated on the same basis as an ‘insured’ person living in the country you’re visiting. Remember, this might not cover all the things you’d expect to get free of charge from the NHS in the UK. You may have to make a contribution to the cost of your care. As the level of medical treatment in other EU countries may not be as great as that of the UK and not available without full payment elsewhere, we do insist that all our clients have adequate travel insurance cover

Passports and Visas

A valid 10 year machine readable passport is required for each individual travelling outside of the United Kingdom. Passports must be valid for at least eight months beyond the return date from the destination. These are things that you need to do for yourself, we can only give you advice. If you are a British Citizen, travelling to or through an EU or non EU country, you will need a 10 year British passport. Although there is now no passport control for persons travelling between EU countries, a passport must still be carried for identification purposes. The Identity and Passport Service (IPS) recommends you apply for a passport through your nearest Post Office. You are advised not to make travel arrangements until the passport has arrived. Child passports – Since 1998, children under 16 have been required to hold their own passport. From age 16, children can hold a standard 10 year adult passport. For more passport information, contact the Passport Advice line on 0300 222 0000 or online at www.direct.gov.uk/passports. Some non British passport holders may require visas to visit certain countries. Please check with the relevant embassy in London, of the country you are visiting.

Money

If travelling abroad you can obtain foreign currency and travellers cheques from your (or any) bank providing enough notice is given. It may also be possible to obtain your foreign currency on the Ferry/Eurotunnel. However we do advise you to have foreign currency with you for stops en-route, plus some for the country of destination (banks may be closed when you arrive).

To ensure your safety and to comply with our legal obligation in respect of our total gross weight, please ask for further details.

Overnight travel

If your journey is at night, you may find it an advantage to take a travelling rug (or blanket) and a small cushion for comfort.

Arriving home

On the return journey your driver will, at the last stop, give a fairly accurate time of your arrival home. This will enable you to telephone friends or relatives who may be meeting you. Please advise friends and relatives of the name address and telephone number of the hotel before tour departure.
